Thinking of purchasing tickets online?

Some business and companies will use word placement and pay extra on search sites such as Google to make sure that they are at the top of the list when people are searching for tickets.

Consumers are being tricked into paying higher prices than what the tickets are worth, and the tickets are not always as described.

NT Consumer Affairs is reminding consumers not to get caught in their web and to shop around. Look for local companies selling tickets and compare prices before you commit to an online purchase.

If you are in dispute with an online business over a purchase, and you paid by credit card you may be able to apply to your bank for a charge back within a certain period of time. Or if you paid by Paypal you can contact Paypal who may assist with a payment dispute. If you need further advice contact our call centre on 1800 019 319 or by email to consumer@nt.gov.au
