Stay Smart Online Week 10-14 October
This year’s theme is “cyber safety from the lounge room to the board room” focusing on how individuals' online behaviours in their personal life can impact their workplace, and how organisations can engage with their employees on online security awareness.
Mr Dan Tehan, the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Cyber Security launched this years’ Stay Smart Online Week. Mr Tehan stated that cybercrime costs Australians more than $1 billion a year. “There have been more than 74,000 cybercrimes reported to ACORN since November 2014, with online scams and fraud accounting for 42 per cent” Mr Tehan said. It is important that everyone is aware of their online safety.
As part of the launch two guides have been released for individuals and businesses with handy tips about staying safe online.
